No Homework

     Homework is ruining the world, and it will destroy the human race. Homework causes extreme amounts of stress. It kills trees, and will drive away all basketball players. Those are some of the reasons homework is ruining the world.

     Stress, is one of the many side affects of the never ending homework we get. When I get stressed I punch y sister, but when I punch my sister there are consequences. One of the consequences of punching my sister is I get in trouble, and when I get in trouble I can't hang out with my friends. So ultimately, homework is bad for everyone.

     Killing of the trees is another part of the homework epidemic. My first point is that homework kills trees, and trees provide oxygen, and to live, humans need oxygen. So every time you cut down a tree, you're destroying the oxygen supply which will, over time, run out, wiping out the human race.

     Homework is driving away all the basketball players around the world. Homework is just extra time added to your day. If you have two hours of basketball after school and you have two hours of homework, it takes up all the time in your day. If you have too much homework sometimes it makes you late for practice, and if you miss practice you're not as good, and if you're not good you lose. Everyone wants to win and get better so homework should be destroyed.

     Those are just some of the reasons homework is ruining the world. Stress is one of the big effects of homework. Homework also kills trees, which lowers the oxygen supply, and homework will destroy all basketball players. Those are just some of the problems leading up to the extinction of the world!

Book Review:Leaving Protection

Leaving Protection, by Will Hobbs, is about a boy named Robbie,who lives in a small fishing community called port protection. He wants money so he trys to get a fishing job on a highliner. He got a job on a boat called the Storm Petrel. The owners name is Tor Torsen, but thing thing about Tor is he has a journal with the directions to all the places where the Russian plaques are burried. So instead of fishing one day they decide to go treasur hunting instead, and suceed. Now that they have found a plaque they're heading up to the Fairwether Grounds, to try and catch some kings. The fishing is good but there's a storm and they dont have much time to get to Liytua Bay, the only safe place for miles. On their race to get their they're getting pounded by the waves and Tor has to go outside to fix something on the deck, but he goes overboard. Robbie turned the boat around and tried to save him but it was to late. So Robbie had to save his own life and get to the bay but, the problem was the entrance was closing and it was going to be close. He timed it perfect and rode the wave into the bay. Then Tor's daughter decides to give the boat to Robbie's family in exchange for theirs.

 One of the main themes in the book is patience. An example of how this theme is shown is when Robbie snoops around on Tor's boat. If Robbie would have had patience he never would have snooped around and got caught.  Another example is fishing. It takes patience to fish, because if you aren't catching fish it takes patience to stay out there all day and wait for the slow fishing. Thats what it think the main theme of the book was.

 I would recommend this book to other 7th grade readers, because it shows part of the Southeast fishing experience. It's also filled with lots of adventure. I think a person who likes the outdoors would really enjoy this book. There is no sequel, but there are some other good books by Will Hobbs. That's why I would recommend this book to other 7th grade readers.

Tevin,The Best Kobe Bryant Ther Ever Was!

    When I grow up I think I'd make a great Kobe Bryant. I've always enjoyed playing basketball. One of my favorite things to do is win championships.I even have some experience at being selfish. I'm really good at basketball, I win championships and I am selfish, therefore, I will be the best Kobe Bryant that ever was.

    Basketball has always come naturally to me. There ws that time when I ws 9 and I scored 81 points. Im always playing basketball. Whenever I play basketball, I play good. Being able to dunk is the first step along the path to becoing a Kobe Bryant.

     Winning championships is another thing I really enjoy. It's so exciting to play in a championship game. When I'm playing I feel like I'm in a zone. I am to Kobe Bryant, what Cliff Lee is to the MLB. Being able to play basketball for the rest of my life would be awesome.

     Being selfish takes a special talent. I gained a lot of experience at being selfish when I was a kid. I learned a lot about the game of basketball when I was young. For example, when I was a baby I didn't share. The time I spent being selfish is sure to give ma an advantage when it comes to becoming a Kobe Bryant.

    The three most important ingredients required in order to become a successful Kobe Bryant are playing basketball, winning championships and being selfish, and I've got them all! I want to be the best. I'm never so happy as when I'm in the midst of winning championships. It's like Kobe said, "Just Win." When I slam dunk, I feel like a beast,and that's wh I'll be the best Kobe Bryant there ever was!
